Enjoy the Natural Beauty, Cosmopolitan Flavour and Diversity of Vancouver

About Vancouver

Vancouver, British Columbia, is Canada’s third largest city. Unlike most other Canadian cities, Vancouver boasts a year-round temperate climate.

Situated on a peninsula on the west coast of the British Columbia mainland, Vancouver nestles in a backdrop of mountains and the sea, with wild and rugged forest areas within city limits. Stanley Park, Cypress Mountain and Mount Seymour Provincial Park are all minutes away from city living, yet each offers sights and sounds of natural splendor, seemingly miles from human activity.

From family entertainment to the most challenging adventure sport, visitors will find a wide selection of activities in Vancouver and surrounding areas.

A number of great shopping areas are located within a short distance of The 910 Beach — Yaletown (trendy area featuring local fashion and lifestyle design boutiques) and Downtown (Pacific Centre Mall as well as upscale Robson Street) as well as Chinatown and historic Gastown and well worth a visit.

Arts and Culture

A short Aquabus ride across False Creek brings you to Granville Island.

In addition to its famed Public Market; the Island is also home to three theatre companies as well as numerous galleries and artists’ studios. A ten-minute ride towards the city centre brings you to Vancouver’s theatre district featuring The Centre for Performing Arts (Previously called The Ford Centre), The Queen Elizabeth Theatre and The Playhouse Theatre. A few blocks west is The Orpheum, a fully-restored Art Nouveau concert hall, The Vogue, an Art Deco concert venue and the Vancouver Art Gallery (housed in Vancouver’s original court house building). During the summer, Theatre Under the Stars produces Broadway musicals in Stanley Park and Bard on the Beach produces Shakespeare in Vanier Park (adjacent to Granville Island and accessible by Aquabus).

The Art of Dining Well

Vancouverites love to eat and Vancouver boasts some of the best restaurants in North America. Less than 5 minutes from 910beach Apartment you can explore the cuisines of the West Coast, Thailand, France, Tuscany, and Japan as well as the best seafood restaurants in the city. If a home-cooked meal is more your style, the Granville Island Public Market offers everything you need to create your own sumptuous feast, simple dinner or casual barbecue.

Café Culture

Another favorite Vancouver pastime is enjoying a cappuccino or latté while watching the world go by. A number of coffee bars and cafes are located along the Seawall Promenade within a few steps of 910 Beach. Other great coffee locations include Yaletown, Denman Street and Granville Island.

What mode of transportation is unique to Vancouver? It’s the Aquabus! A quaint, pint-size version of a passenger ship, the Aquabus ferries people up and down False Creek seven days a week. Its main dock is located at the mouth of the Creek, and just happens to be right down the block from 910 Beach! For an inexpensive fare, travelers can hop aboard the Aquabus and take a quick jaunt across the waters to Granville Island or putter on down to the outskirts of Yaletown. Just sit back and enjoy the splendour of the boats moored at the marina or marvel at the sight of passing underneath the Granville Street Bridge! An enjoyable ride, a memorable experience – it’s the Aquabus on False Creek!

The Great Outdoors

Strolling the Seawall and exploring nearby Stanley Park are activities common to all Vancouverites. Boat charters for either fishing or pleasure sailing or sea kayak rentals are available at a number of outlets in The Maritime Market on Granville Island. During the ski season, both Grouse Mountain and Cypress Bowl offer alpine and cross-country equipment rentals and day-passes.

Walking/Running/Cycling and In-line Skating

The nearby Seawall Promenade is the ideal location to work off some of those calories. Both bicycles and in-line skates are available close to 910 Beach. If your idea of “activity” includes something a little slower, then walking the Seawall to Stanley Park might just do the trick!

Vancouver & Neighbourhood

Ocean to the south, city and mountains to the north, 910 Beach’s special waterfront location offers guests the best of Vancouver.
